Agenda for the Tri-National Meeting

Objectives:

  1. Create a space for reflection, exchange of ideas, and collaboration related to alternative forms of economic integration, tri-national development, and looking ahead to “what happens next” with NAFTA.
  2. Foster dialogue and exchange between legislators and civil society actors to further develop ideas for alternatives to the current framework surrounding free trade and tri-national development
  3. Identify some of the more critical impacts of 11 years of NAFTA, focusing on an analysis of both national level and sector-specific effects
  4. Seek consensus on possible future actions that could be taken tri-nationally among legislators and between legislators and civil society, to directly address some of critical impacts of NAFTA and look ahead to the negotiation of a “NAFTA-Plus”
